The intention of this website is to provide a resource on the great and the good . . . and not so good . . . rock albums from the late 1960s to the present day. The scope of the genre is vast and so will always be a work in progress and will take-in various sub-genres: heavy metal, blues rock, prog rock, jazz rock etc etc, with a slant towards the 1970s – 1980s when rock was achieving the popularity and acclaim it deservered.
As a personal project, the opinions expressed will be my own and so not universally agreeable but music is subjective and there’s no ‘wrong’ or ‘right’ on whether or not an album is great or awful but I will try to be constructive if criticism is forthcoming . . . where possible! However, please bear in mind that this is your project too and I invite anyone who wishes to contribute to do so, whether by commenting on my writings or submitting articles for publication.
The 1980s was a golden era for metal but who started it, what finished it and what was with all the eye liner and hairspray? Read-on to discover the wonders of the Hair Metal era . . .
